a new poem for all your roof-raising, edge-pushing and silent acts of fearlessness
+++++
to do what’s true, true for you
takes bravery in the blood
you must decline the invitation to shrink or dim
say no to slipping down the slope, subdued
refuse to be stopped dead in your tracks
every time you press on, step up and open wide
each intrepid act
has a thousand unseen ripples
each one, ripping into a frozen sea inside a frigid heart
each one, melting what was once a fortress
even though you may never see
how your courage has kissed the sleeping beauty of a mind
do it anyway, friend
do what’s true, true for you
